ICfL Redesign

ICfL Redesign

Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICFL) is a state department which assists and oversees libraries in the state of Idaho.  The ICFL provides various services and programs and also publishes news to the library community in idaho.

I had a privilege to redesign the ICFL to have it conform to the state design requirements but it turned out to be a major overhaul because the site had one fundamental issue, as one staff member put it, “No one can find anything on our site”.

The old ICFL site was bugged down with many scripts, plugins, and various hacks, as a result not only did it not function properly but the staff was trained to publish content incorrectly causing a huge challenge finding any kind of information on it.  So, as part of the redesign process, three fundamental things happened: The navigation was fixed;  new template was developed; and thirdly a lot of useless hacks and features were removed or rewritten.
